Anstey Junior School is a proud Eco-Schools Green Flag school.
Each class has an Eco representative, the Eco group are responsible for championing environmental issues in the classroom and across the school.
During the past school year, pupils have completed the Eco School questionnaire, developed an action plan, completed the big bird watch, litter picked across the site and have planned a pupil wellbeing area with wild flowers. Eco reps have created posters for their classrooms to turn lights off and close doors when leaving rooms.
The Eco group wanted to reduce clothing waste and came up with an idea to create a swap shop for school uniform as they were always growing out of school clothes, so the idea of our successful uniform swap shop was born! We also have a clothing bin for all items of shoes and clothes to be recycled in, reducing clothing sent to landfill.
