Volunteering

Volunteer opportunities

At Anstey we have several volunteering opportunities for our local community. We are looking for members of our local community to support us in the following areas:

  • Listening to pupils read
  • Gardening
  • Governance

Being a school volunteer can be a very rewarding role. Here are some benefits that others have found:

  • the knowledge that you are helping schools and pupils
  • the satisfaction of giving something back to the community
  • a sense of purpose and achievement
  • new skills which may be transferable elsewhere
  • broader horizons
  • new friends and workmates
  • training and support in order to help you fulfil your duties and responsibilities

If you would like to discuss any of our volunteer roles please call the school office on 01420 84486 or email school.office@anstey-jun.hants.sch.uk

Please note that for the protection of children, all volunteer appointments are subject to a full identity check.

The Big Help Out

The Big Help Out is a national day of volunteering happening on 8 May, the Bank Holiday Monday of the Coronation weekend for HM The King.

The day’s about inspiring people to try volunteering for the first time, or returning to volunteering.
